The outcome of each application for full Membership,
whether approved or rejected by the Committee, will be notified
to the Police, together with the name and address of the
applicant. This is a Home Office Regulation requirement.
-
Probationary Members must be accompanied and instructed

the Range Officer(s).

Member supervising their shooting in the Range.

shooting, in case of an accident and also to witness competition
targets.
-
Range Officers are to take possession of the Clubroom and
Armoury keys, and they are to ensure that the Armoury door is
kept locked when not removing or replacing weapons, scopes, etc.
No one else may enter the Armoury, unless they are a Committee
Member. Shooters in a given session must see that one of their
number (it need not be the same person during the whole of the
session) is always acting as Range Officer. That person will be
identified by wearing the appropriate insignia.
-
When the red light above the range door is illuminated,
NO ONE is allowed to enter the Range except the
Range Officer.
-
NEVER POINT A WEAPON AT ANYONE!
-
When weapons are removed from the Armoury, or from their
cases, they must be left in a "proved" condition.
-
Do not touch weapons, ammunition or equipment belonging
to someone else without their permission.
-
Weapons must only be prepared for firing on the firing
point.
-
Breeches or magazines may be charged ONLY after the Range
Officer commands "LOAD" or "CARRY ON", and
the RED SIGNAL LIGHTS IN THE RANGE HAVE BEEN TURNED OFF.
-
At the end of each detail, Range Officers must check that
all weapons are left in a "proved" condition.
-
Do not go forward of the firing point until the Range
Officer permits, and the red signal light in the range has been
illuminated.
-
Any ammunition purchased and not used in the session may
be stored in the Armoury. It must be left in its box, identified
with the individual's name and placed in the container provided.
No more than 50 rounds per individual may be stored. Any Member
wishing to remove ammunition from the Club must have it entered
on to their Firearms Certificate.
-
If you are to take part in any competitions, you should
ensure that you are fully aware of the rules for that
competition. Apply to the discipline Competition Secretary for
the rules.
-
Unless individual competition rules deem otherwise,
details should be over within:
-
Anyone found causing, or proven to have caused, wilful
damage to any range fitting or Club equipment will be expelled
from the Club
-
Take care that familiarity and casual attitudes do not
allow you to overlook any safety precautions.
-
Members should make every effort to carry out Range
Officer duties as allocated to them. If they are unable to
fulfil their duty of Range Officer, they must get another Member
to deputise for them, or inform any Section Committee Member.
-
Keys 11 and 11a may be drawn by any Member at any time
for access to equipment for use on the outdoor range. Keys 14 &
15 may only be drawn by full adult Members with one year's full
Membership on pre-booked range times, providing that their
membership card has been "key stamped". Committee
Members with more than one year's full Membership may draw all
keys at any time.
